PRAYLEX 2024

A 40-Day Prayer Initiative to Pray God's Word Over Lexington.

Week 6 – PRAY FOR LIFE TO BE VALUED

4/28 – Pray for Abortion to End

For You formed my inmost being;

You knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise You,

for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Marvelous are Your works,

and I know this very well.

My frame was not hidden from You

when I was made in secret,

when I was woven together

in the depths of the earth.

Your eyes saw my unformed body;

all my days were written in Your book

and ordained for me

before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:13-16)

- Pray for forgiveness within the church body regarding abortion.

- Pray for church leaders to see value in helping the unborn, their parents and those on the front lines. (monetarily, volunteers, prayer, etc.)

- Pray for a heart for those vulnerable babies that are at risk and the parents and families in crisis.

- Pray for moms & dads in Lexington & Dawson Co. who are entertaining the unthinkable toward their unborn child. Pray for conversations & ways to encourage them to choose life.

4/30 – Pray for a Heart for Children

But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and told them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them, and blessed them. (Mark 10:14-16)

- Thank God for children. Bring before Him specific children in your sphere of influence. Ask that they might be tender toward the things of God and open to loving Him with all their heart, soul, mind & strength.

- Pray for a heart that sees children and loves them as Jesus does.

- Ask for Holy Spirit to open your eyes to seeing needs of children right around you. Be Jesus’ hands and feet according to how He leads you.

4/29 – Set Apart Before Birth

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah1:5)

- Seek forgiveness about ways you may have not  seen the threat to the unborn. Ways you’ve ignored it because it is difficult to face.

- Pray for Christian couples to answer the call to adopt. Pray for courage to answer that call & stick with it. Pray for needs to be met.

- Pray for children in the system. For older children & siblings. For the best outcome. For opportunities to hear about the gospel.

5/1 – Pray for a Heart that Values All Human Life

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with one another and forgive any complaint you may have against someone else. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which is the bond of perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for to this you were called as members of one body. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:12-15)

- Pray for your neighbors. For the hearts of those who don’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior. For ways to interact with them in practical and Kingdom ways.

- Pray for those that may be considering suicide. For those nearby to see the signs. For a heart to respond in love and compassion

- Pray for those caught up in human trafficking. For their freedom. For help and courage.

5/2 – Celebrate Who God Is  (NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER)

Read Psalm 103:1-22

- Praise God for his forgiveness toward our sin.

- Praise God for the ways He has redeemed your life. Ways He’s redeemed a real mess.

- Praise God for his righteousness and justice.

- Praise God for  His compassion & grace toward you. For  His slowness to get angry & His loving devotion toward those who fear Him.
